It's My Choice - Self-Advocacy Workbook
"It's My Choice," an electronic self-advocacy workbook for people with disabilities, is now available to help you change the way you think about your life and the options that are available to you. This online workbook can be completed electronically or can be downloaded and printed out. Your responses can be saved for future reference, or revised and updated when you want to make some changes. Developed by the Minnesota Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities, this workbook will help you prepare for planning meetings, and make it possible for you to more fully participate in discussions/decisions about services and supports to meet your individual needs in a variety of life areas. Ohio Protection & Advocacy Association
Ohio Protection & Advocacy Association is a private, non-profit organization. Established in 1977 to protect and advocate for person with Developmental Disabilities who reside in Ohio. Ohio Protection & Advocacy Association is concerned about Identification, Education, Job Training Vocational Placement, Socialization, Independent Living Housing, and all legally defined rights of persons with Developmental Disabilities, without regard to race, creed, color, sex, national origin, or financial status.
The Arc of the United States
The Arc is the world’s largest community based organization of and for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It provides an array of services and support for families and individuals and includes over 140,000 members affiliated through more than 780 state and local chapters across the nation. The Arc is devoted to promoting and improving supports and services for all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
The Peal Center
The work of the PEAL Center reflects a resounding call to parents, professionals and persons living with disabilities to join in celebrating our common bonds and to be the collective voice that reverberates in our communities. The PEAL Center serves families of children with disabilities and special health care needs providing information and training in Western and Central Pennsylvania and on health care needs statewide.
